2006
This year's drafts will begin on Saturday August 26th, and concluding on Tuesday September 5th, 2006. Preparing for the Draft
Planning for the draft makes the difference between having a mediocre team or having a team that can go the distance and win a Super Bowl. Taking the time to research players, their teams, schedules and stats will give you the upper hand in drafting NFL players. There are many different types of Fantasy Football magazines available at your local Book Store. Other possibilities are TV Talk Shows and those of you with a computer, the World Wide Web. These are just a few ways to help you prepare and achieve the winning edge over your opponents.
Division Setup
Depending on the number of owners, division alignments will be as follows:
- Up to 64 owner league.
- 2 conferences > American and National.
- 4 divisions per conference (other configuration possible).
- 8 owners per division (10 owners also possible).
The League will do it's best to group you by Conference and Division with owners you would enjoy playing against. Hopefully this will make for a more enjoyable season.
Day of Draft
Before the draft starts we will go over this year’s rules and answer any questions. Every owner should come prepared with a list of NFL players at each position so that he or she can keep track of who has been selected and which players are still available to draft. Owners will draft their players in proper order taking approximately one minute per pick. The draft should be conclude in about two to three hours.
Setting up draft order
Each owner in their respective divisions, by a show of hands, will vote on a draft format shown below. In case of a tie, draft type will be drawn from a hat or by other means. Each draft type is explained below and all owners should be familiarized with each style prior to draft day; as follows:
- Random (league preference) - each owner draws a number from a deck of cards, one thru the number of owners in a division. This number will become the position in which an owner will draft in the first round and then it becomes your assigned position throughout the remaining rounds. To help all owners drafting strategy, all 16 rounds will be determine before hand.
- Random All - same as Random, except for first round is randomized with all of the other rounds. In others words, owner in 5th position could technically start the draft instead the traditional number one pick.
- Reverse - Every other round is reserve to the prior round, i.e., round 1 = 1-8, round 2 = 8-1, round 3 = 1-8, and etc.
- Serpentine - a combine format of Random All and Reverse. All odd rounds are randomized with the even rounds in reverse order.
Example: round 1 = 1-8, round 2 = 8-1, round 3 = 4-3, round 4 = 3-4, round 5 = 6-5, round 6 = 5-6, and etc.- Standard - All rounds are the same order 1-8.
NOTE: if a draft format cannot be derived, Random type will prevail.
One important rule of thumb is not to draft too many players on the same bye week. If you were to draft a starting Quarterback from New England and your second Quarterback from Green Bay, each have the same bye week, you would score zero points for the position. Mixing your roster with players throughout the thirty-two NFL teams will help to eliminate the possibilities of this situation from occurring.
The tables below have the necessary requirements, as follows:

Flex Position (RB & WE/TE)This position allows an owner to start a more flexible lineup at Running Back and Wide Receiver/Tight End. Each position has a minimum and a maximum starting requirement; one RB and two WR/TE is the league's minimum per week. This leaves owners the option of two player positions to decide on to capitalize on game match ups or adjusting for player injuries. Three possible combination can be started, they are:
Possible Combinations |

| 1 RB & 4 WR/TE | 2 RB & 3 WR/TE | 3 RB & 2 WR/T |
Player(s) released or waived during pre-season, regular season or league playoffsNFL players released or waived during the pre-season, regular season, or league playoffs can be released and replaced with a player of the same position from the free agent pool. NOTE: First come first serve, see Waiver Wire System for processing!
Starting line-ups must be submitted via the League Web site or emailed into the Commish. Each owner will have his or her web page updated with player acquisitions each Friday morning for weekend games and early Thursday mornings for Thanksgiving Day games.
Deadline to decide players Start/Bench status is just prior to the start of his NFL game.
WARNING!!! Kickoff of each game will lock down players. Once NFL players are locked, their status cannot be changed.Automatic Starting Lineups
All Owners starting lineup will automatically carryover to the following week once the current week's football stats are finalized by the NFL, usually early Tuesday mornings. This feature will allow an owner the option to not submit a weekly lineup if he or she decides to. However, by no means an owner is forced to use these lineups, you can change as many times until player is locked out.
TIP: On the Starting Lineup page, players in BOLD lettering signify last weeks starters.Early Games
There are 6 Thursday (Week 1 & 12 thru 16) and 3 Saturday games (week 15 thru 17) this year.
Everybody knows that injuries and benching are part of the game, so naturally they’re part of this one, too. Throughout the season some owners won’t have the ability to field a starting line-up each week. The following rulings will be used to determine a player(s) eligibility.Placed on Injured Reserve (IR)
Players that are out for the season can be released and replaced at any time with a player of the same position from the free agent pool.
NOTE: First come first serve and owners with a IR player will be granted first choice before weekly waivers are processed.Injured during season but not on IR
Players listed out for a certain number of weeks for a particular injury will not qualify to be waived during any part of the season including the playoffs. You will have to retain that injured player on your roster until you can release and draft another player from the free agent pool. No waivers will be conducted during the playoffs (except for IR or released), so the depth of your team could be the deciding factor in winning the Super Bowl Tournament!Conflicts with players on a bye week or another player injury
When one or more players are on a bye and your injured player(s) can not start that week, the following guidelines for each position will determine if you can use a free agent, Team QB, or Team PK player for current week.
Quarterbacks & Place Kickers > Team QB or Team PK
If a starting QB or PK gets hurt during the game, your franchise will be eligible for Team QB or Team PK stats when you meet the league's conditions listed below.
NOTE: Owners must start drafted QB or PK first before a Team QB or Team PK is granted. Furthermore, Team QB and Team PK position can be revoked at any time due to the complexity of the position.Team QB & Team PK Conditions
When Eligibility is Granted to an Owner for Team QB/PK
Condition (more than one ruling can apply)
League Ruling
1. Starting QB's & PK's are healthy & not listed on Injury Rpt. Eligible if hurt in the game & backup is NOT drafted. 2. QB or PK benched or removed during game. No eligibility, QB or PK will no longer accumulate stats. 3. QB or PK benched and not listed on Injury Report. Start other QB or PK, then conditions 1. 4. Both QB's or PK's are benched and not listed on Injury Rpt. Eligible if condition 5 or 6 are not meet. 5. Backup to starting QB or PK is on another team. No eligibility, start other QB or PK then condition 1 or 6. 6. Both backups to starting QB's or PK's are on other teams. No eligibility until a non-drafted QB or PK is in game. 7. Both QB's or PK's are on bye. No eligibility, make trade to avoid scoring zero points. 8. One QB or PK is on the injury list, the other is healthy. Start healthy QB or PK, then conditions 1. 9. One QB or PK is on the injury list, the other on bye. Start injured QB or PK, eligible as long backup is NOT drafted. 10. Both QB's or PK's are on the Injury Report as Out,
Doubtful, Questionable or Probable.Start QB or PK likely to play, eligible as long backup is NOT drafted. 11. One QB or PK is Probable or Questionable while
the other is doubtful or out.Start probable or questionable QB or PK, eligible if condition 5 is not meet. 12. Both backups are drafted & both QB's or PK's are
doubtful or out.Make a waiver for a free agent, then conditions 1. Owner may elect to score zero points instead of making waiver. 13. Do other player positions stats count towards
Team QB or PK?NO! Player must be listed as QB or PK for stats to count. NOTES: Term "other" means second drafted QB or PK during league draft.
Term "backup" stands for NFL player that comes in relief of starting QB or PK.
Free Agent is a QB or PK not drafted.
Free Agent must be made by deadline prior to kickoff of current week.
QB or PK waiver follows league weekly draft rules.
Example: Lets say you start a healthy QB or PK and he gets hurt in the first quarter and can't continue. If your healthy QB or PK was not list on the NFL Injury Report (league preference is USA Today, NFL.com, Footballinjuries.com, or ESPN.com) and not drafted by another owner, you will be entitled to all his backup(s) stats. The value this position brings to your team is the ability to get a complete game from your healthy starting QB or PK when a injury occurs.
If you are unable to play the required number of Running Backs and Wide Receivers/Tight Ends on your roster, you will have to pick up an available player from the free agent pool during the weekly waiver draft or open live a waiver (see weekly waivers). There are no team stats for these positions.
Important notes:
and/or Benched Players
- If you are unable to field a full roster because of having to many players on the same bye week, you will not be allowed to pick up a free agent player after waiver deadlines have passed; and
- All rulings will be made by the League Commissioners and are final. We will be as fair to everyone as possible. If you are still unclear about these rulings, please e-mail us.
Suspended
When one or more players are suspended for discipline actions or benched by their NFL team, they are suspend and/or benched on your roster as well. These players will be granted NO special circumstances and should be handle wisely by you. NOTE: Suspended and/or benched players cannot be waived during the leagues playoffs.
Weekly Drafts will be held throughout the first eleven weeks of the regular season with no waivers being conducted during the league's playoffs. Each owner will have a total of 14 waiver picks to be used in any way they want. The maximum an owner can waiver is 2 players per week until your ceiling is met.Waiver Wire Systems
Waiver Wire - Weekly Request
Starting with the first NFL Sunday game until Thursday 11:00 pm (Wednesday night when games are played on Thursday), owners can begin submitting via league's web site or by contacting the League Commish, waiver requests for players an owner would like to release and draft. Waivers should contain at least 3 players of choice per waived player. Each player drafted must be of the same position as the player released (exception would be WR for TE, or vise versa). This should guarantee you at least one player from the free agent pool.
Note: if web site is operational, all waivers should be sent to > UFFL2k@aol.comAfter the deadline has passed, the League will compile all the waiver requests each week and start the draft in the following order.
- Owners with IR requests (must be noted in the comment area) will be processed first if submitted by Thursday deadline. If more than one owner is making a request for the same NFL player via email, time of email will be the deciding factor.
- 2 rounds will be conducted each week, if needed. Team in last place from each respective division will have the first pick and first place team having the last pick. Second round will follow using first round draft order.
- In case of same record, record in head-to-head competition and total points scored to date will determine the tiebreaker; day and time sent will be the third tiebreaker, if needed.
- Date or time of waiver request has no impact on where you draft, except for IR or released players. Tip: don't rush you selections.
Not all owners will draft players in a given week. The outcome of this will not change the order of the draft. Example, if the first top five owners (1-5) submitted a free agent requests and the last five teams (6-10) do not, the draft would start with the fifth place team going first.
Live Waiver Wire - First Come First Serve
Starting each Friday at 4:00 am, exceptions noted below, until Sunday's kickoff, owners can make real time waivers on a first come first server basis. League waiver wire maximums apply, but it could be possible to make one waiver request and then one live waiver in a week. Player(s) released by an owners during the weekly waiver request will not be available until the first game on Sunday. This will assure owners time to review the transaction page to see who was dropped and picked from the draft waiver wire request opens.Game not played on Sundays, the following times will be enforced., as follows:
Live Waiver Wire - Preseason
- Live waiver wire close during week one, system opens Friday September 15th at 4 am.
- Week 11, final live waiver wire of the regular season. System closes on Sunday @ 1 pm.
- Week 12 thru 16, League Playoffs begin, live waiver wire open for IR or released players moves ONLY.
Once rosters are posted on the league's site, an owner can make unlimited preseason waivers until Wednesday September 7th, 2006 midnight. All waivers are first come first serve basis. Each player drafted must be of the same position as the player released (exception would be WR for TE, or vise versa). Note: email responses during the preseason will not be except, transactions must be made via the league's web site.
The following scoring grids will translate on field performance into fantasy points. All bonus categories have minimum requirements that have to be met before qualifying for any bonuses. Offensive players can score points in any of the other categories depending on performance.
Regular Season Format
Playoff Formats
Week 12 thru 16 (5 weeks) will the designated as playoffs weeks. Formats as follows:
Four divisions per conference
This tentative playoff scheme is what the league will try to setup.
Throughout the Regular Season and Playoffs, the league's web site will be update on Monday mornings for Sunday games, and Tuesday morning's update will be official for the week.
NFL Game Stats
During the season, NFL officials review all of the game films and at times, plays get changed after the official stats have been posted. In case of a change, all scores and standings will be recalculated. This may or may not change the outcome of your match. If any match ups are reversed, they will supercede the original decision.
Reports
All reports on the league's web site are all printable if you would like a hard copy for their records. Selected reports can be emailed from the owner's advance franchise setup page.
Live Scoring
Live scoring allows an owner to view their fantasy team in real-time. Logging on to the league's web site while the NFL games are in action, click on the live scoring link where an owner can view his or her match up in process. Automatic updates occur every three minutes to update players scores.
Note: As the stats are not official until early Tuesday morning, they should only be viewed as preliminary stats only.
Depending on the number of entries, this tentative distribution (Table 1 - 3) is based on 64 owners in the league with four divisions per conference. The following would be adjusted lower if the league size changes.

What is Fantasy Skins? Think of it as Power Ball or Megabucks without the millions in the jackpot. The first weekend of the season, someone will set a high score for each conference. Thereafter, each week 25 points will be added until an owner can beat the high score by one point (ties are voids). When a new high is recorded, the Fantasy Skins resets back to 25 points and the previous owner will collect 25 points for the number of weeks the high score was posted. Lets look at the example below,
After the first weekend concludes, John Doe set a high score for the American League of 269 points; he sets the standard to beat and earns 25 points. Each week his high score survives, he will collect additional 25 points until it's beat by another higher score. Week six Mary Doe is the first person to break and sets a newer high score of 270 points. John Doe receives 125 points (i.e. 25 x 5), Fantasy Skin reset, and Mary's collects 25 points and begins her quest.
Note: If two or more owners set the standard or beat the high score by one point, distribution will be divided among the owners.
